Experience the profound healing ritual of the Võromaa smoke sauna tradition, a practice deeply rooted in Estonian culture and honored on the UNESCO List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This ancient tradition, preserved through generations, offers a unique path to emotional and physical wellness.

At the picturesque Mooska farm, Eda Veeroja, renowned for her sauna healing capabilities, facilitates a healing session with a group of close friends to support their friend who is recovering from a difficult relationship. &The transformative journey begins with the careful selection of medicinal herbs from the verdant Estonian countryside. These herbs, known for their therapeutic properties, are an essential element of the smoke sauna ritual. Each herb is chosen with intention, connecting the participants to the natural world and the healing powers it holds.

The ritual unfolds in the serene setting of the traditional smoke sauna, a sanctuary where the air is filled with the aromatic scent of burning wood and herbs. Within this sacred space, the rhythmic beating of drums and the harmonious chanting of ancient songs resonate, creating a powerful and soothing auditory experience. These sounds, steeped in cultural significance, help guide the ritual recipient into a state of deep relaxation and introspection.
As the ritual progresses, the heat of the smoke sauna works in tandem with the medicinal herbs to cleanse the body and spirit. The intense heat opens pores and promotes sweating, which aids in the release of toxins and negative energies. This physical purification is complemented by the emotional and spiritual cleansing facilitated by the communal experience and the supportive presence of other women.

The Võromaa smoke sauna tradition is a holistic healing practice that aims to clear trauma and restore balance within the body. The combination of herbal medicine, rhythmic drumming, and chanting creates a powerful synergy that addresses both the physical and emotional aspects of healing. Participants often emerge from the sauna feeling rejuvenated, empowered through tradition and friendship and leave feeling a renewed sense of clarity and peace.
