Indulge in a serene retreat to Otakinoyu, nestled in the heart of Kusatsu, and embark on a journey of relaxation in one of the town's natural hot spring baths, known as onsen. Guided by Sho Ikushima, discover the allure of Otakinoyu, where traditional Japanese awase-yu bathing culture takes center stage, providing a unique and rejuvenating experience.

As you enter the recently renovated bathhouse, a tranquil oasis unfolds. The wooden pillars, stretching gracefully towards the ceiling, echo the natural beauty of tall trees standing amidst the mist. The design mimics the enchanting sensation of being outdoors, as the steam from the hot springs delicately wraps around the pillars. This immersive ambiance invites bathers to unwind and escape into a world that seamlessly merges the tranquility of nature with the soothing embrace of the onsen.

Otakinoyu offers a glimpse into the traditional awase-yu bathing culture, a practice where bathers immerse themselves in a sequence of baths, each progressively hotter than the last. This ancient ritual not only enhances the relaxation experience but also holds cultural significance, contributing to a sense of well-being and balance.

Renowned as the ""hot spring of beauty,"" Otakinoyu is conveniently located just minutes away from the Yubatake hot water fields of Kusatsu. Drawing its rejuvenating waters from the Nikawa hot spring source, infused with acidic sulfur, the baths at Otakinoyu boast 100% natural free-flowing water. This unique composition has endeared these baths to Japanese men and women alike, contributing to the onsen's esteemed reputation.
The awase-yu baths, with their gradually escalating temperatures, have stood the test of time and continue to captivate bathers seeking the secret to clear and healthy skin. The mineral-rich waters, coupled with the therapeutic practice of awase-yu, create a holistic and revitalizing experience that goes beyond mere relaxation.

As you soak in the soothing embrace of Otakinoyu's hot springs, let the ancient traditions and natural beauty transport you to a state of profound tranquility.

The combination of the therapeutic properties of the onsen and the thoughtfully designed bathhouse creates an environment where time seems to stand still, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the therapeutic essence of Kusatsu's renowned hot springs. Otakinoyu beckons, inviting you to unwind, rejuvenate, and connect with the age-old art of Japanese onsen bathing.
